The Eternal Blossoms

Guru Purnima 2008

“If the Master doesn’t stand in love and truth, then he is no Master.”

—Swami Sai Premananda

Guru Purnima is the sacred day when all spiritual aspirants pay homage to their Guru and the Guru principle. The Guru symbolizes the most compassionate aspect of God, one in which he directly works with aspirants, sacrificing selflessly of himself to dispel their inner darkness with the light of wisdom. For the disciple, the Guru’s instruction is invaluable, his service humbling, and his worship and contemplation purifying.

We invite you to an evening of celebration of the Guru principle, all dedicated to our beloved Guruji, Swami Sai Premananda, and his God and Guru, Sathya Sai Baba. A tribute to the eternal bond of the Guru and disciple, this evening is one of devotion and gratitude to and celebration of Swamiji and Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

All devotees will have the opportunity to perform Paduka Pooja (worship of Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s lotus feet). To worship the Guru’s feet is the highest blessing, as the Guru’s shakti (divine energy) is transmitted thereby, purifying the mind and uplifting the consciousness.

Program Includes:

  • Opening Chant
  • Paduka Pooja (worship of Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s lotus feet)
  • Recitation of the Guru Gita
  • Cultural Program
  • Bhajans
