Ganesh Chaturthi is the auspicious day celebrating the birth of Lord Ganesha, the beloved, elephant-faced deity in Hinduism.

Representing the first unity of spirit and matter, Lord Ganesha symbolizes the beginning of all things in creation and the awakening of higher intelligence within the individual; his grace is essential to begin the inner path as well as any new endeavor. For this reason, Lord Ganesha is worshiped at the beginning of any prayer or religious festival and any new mission in life.
