The Eternal Blossoms

Buddha Purnima Satsang

Buddha Purnima occurs on the full moon of the lunar month of Vaisaskh and marks the three dates of Lord Buddha’s birth (approximately 500 B.C.), his enlightenment, and his passing.

An incarnation of Maha Vishnu, Lord Buddha descended to remind humanity of the essence of spirituality: living beyond ritual with compassion, non-violence, and dedication to the non-dual, Absolute truth. Though born as a crown prince, he renounced all material comforts to search out the truth of suffering and how humankind can be liberated from it. After practicing rigorous disciplines, Lord Buddha ultimately adopted the middle path, the path of inner and outer balance, and attained enlightenment while immersed in meditation under the Bodhi tree. Lord Buddha’s dedicated search for the truth is an example for all spiritual seekers; his teachings on non-violence, compassion, and principled living are a living testimony of his endless compassion for humanity.
